For people passionated about different cultures
Let me share something about my story. It is a story of cross-cultural experience.
I have been leaving in China since 2008.
When I left Italy, my home country, to relocate here I did not know anything about China.
It was far, unknow, somehow fascinating and exotic.
After several years I can say that it has been an amazing experience. I learned so many things. I met so different people. It gave me the passion for discovering different cultures.
It continues to be increadibly enriching, it is teaching me every day that any situation, any behavior can be seen in a different perspective if the "cultural" glasses that we wear are different.
"China" was not my first cross-cultural experience. Previously I have been studying and working in France for 2 years, than in US, but for sure it has been the more intense.
China experience has been different because, as Francois Jullien says, China is a "Elsewhere", a place where we experience what in our culture has not been "thought", just because our way of thinking in front of a cross-road has chosen one direction and the Chinese has taken the other one. For this reason learning something about the Chinese culture can help us also to better understand ourselves.
So, cross-cultural became my passion, in this blog you will find contents on this topic. Under the tag "Cross-culture" and China (at the right side of the page) are stored the posts related.
Enjoy.
